Tonight, the Princess Royal was awarded the 2016 Longines Ladies Award for her contribution to the equestrian world in an awards dinner at the Natural History Museum.

“She is a formidably talented horsewoman and deserves huge praise for her achievements,” Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing of Longines, said in the statement announcing the Princess’s receipt of the award.

During the dinner, Anne spoke of how proud she was of the equality in the sport, that there is no “whinging about whether it’s fair or unfair” in regards to gender, and how horses “are very much our partners”.
