On Saturday 11th June, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have bid farewell to Bhutan following their successful, busy and colourful State Visit.

A farewell ceremony took place at Paros International Airport, amid brightly coloured flags and a large portrait of the King and Queen – symbolic of the high respect and genuine warmth shown to Their Majesties during the last few days. Princess Dechen Yangzom Wangchuck and Princess Kezang Choden Wangchuck escorted Their Majesties along a flower-lined red carpet towards the Drukair aircraft that took them on the first leg of their long journey home.
