Queen Máxima Visits Urk for Neighbour’s Day Launch
Today, Thursday June 9, Her Majesty Queen Máxima was in Urk, in the Flevoland Province, to launch the 11th edition of the “Neighbour’s Day” that this year will take place on September 24 throughout the Netherlands.

The “Neigbour’s Day” is a project supported by the Orange Fund that promotes the socialization between neighbours with many different activities like joint breakfast, sports, games or taking care of neighborhood together. In the presence of the Queen was given the start of the registration for the project.
During the visit Queen Máxima talked with members of neighborhood associations about their ideas and plans for the neighbourhood. Queen Máxima also had a meeting with the residents of six houses that were destroyed last Friday by a gas explosion. The Mayor of Urk, Pieter van Maaren, was present as well.
