Official Welcome For King Abdullah II and Queen Rania as State Visit Starts
King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan were officially welcomed at Brussels Palace square by the Belgian king and queen. The Jordanian monarchs were received with great ceremony: the Belgian national gards paraded on their horses before the two national anthems were played. Queen Mathilde was dressed in a pale yellow outfit with a large elegant creme coloured hat. Queen Rania wore a pink dress and coat, which was paired with some black accessories. After the two royal couples posed for the photographers insuide the palace, the Jordanians left for the tomb of the unknown soldier to lay a wreath of flowers.
Later in the morning King Abdullah II had a meeting with the Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel. Queen Rania and Queen Mathilde visited the project ‘BOOST’ that encourages young people to develop their talents. After the lunch the royal couple will visit the university of Louvain and the airbase of Florennes. In the evening there will be a state banquet at Laeken Castle.
