It has been announced that Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, a cousin of the current head of the House of Karađorđević, died early this morning at his home in Paris, aged 91.

The Prince was born in 1924 in England, the eldest son of Prince Paul of Yugoslavia and Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark (making him a first cousin of the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Prince Michael).

He married twice: first to Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, then to Princess Barbara of Liechtenstein. From his marriages, Alexander had five children: Dimitri, Michael, Sergei, Helen and Dušan.

According to the statement from the Prince’s office, he will be buried at the Serbian Royal Family’s mausoleum at Oplenac in Topola, Serbia.
