Thirty years ago today, the Duchess of Windsor passed away aged 89 at her home in France after years of bad health.

She was buried on April 29 at the Royal Burial Ground, Frogmore at Windsor Castle next to her late husband, the former Edward VIII, after a funeral service at St George’s Chapel that was attended by members of the royal family.
