Iconic Photo Replay? William and Kate Visit The Taj Mahal

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have visited India’s most well-known monuments, the Taj Mahal, today and recreated the iconic photograph of the Duke’s mother, Diana Princess of Wales, sitting in front of the monument – though this time, the royal visitors had happy smiles on their faces.

William and Kate posed for the press on the same marble bench the late Princess sat in back in 1992, with the magnificent Taj Mahal in the background. They then were given a guided tour of the mausoleum that was built as a symbol of the love Shah Jahan had for his wife.

“It’s overwhelming…beautiful,” Prince William said of the sight.

The Duchess wore, in this blogger’s opinion, her best outfit of the week-long tour: a simple white sheath dress with an intricate blue pattern by Indian designer Naeem Khan.

Earlier this morning the couple departed Bhutan, Kate wearing a white eyelet lace skirt and blouse set from Alexander McQueen.
