Spain’s former King, Juan Carlos I, is in Bahrain this weekend to attend the second round of the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix.

On Friday, he was given a tour of the Red Bull garages by the team’s Principal Director, Christian Horner, during the day’s practice sessions.

King Juan Carlos also met driver Fernando Alonso and Bernie Ecclestone, the chief executive of the Formula One Group, while at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The King later had an audience with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the two men discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed their hopes that the friendly relationship will continue to grow to be advantageous to both.
