Plum for Zara as Cheltenham Festival Kicks Off

Taking a look at the frocks donned by other racegoers at the opening day of this year’s Cheltenham Festival, one wouldn’t have been surprised if Zara Phillips decided to relive some of her more adventurous fashion years.

But the 34-year-old was remarkably classic in a simple high-necked plum winter coat with zip detailing along the front, paired with black tights and a pair of black ankle-strap pumps. Atop her head sat a matching purple-toned fascinator.

Zara spent her day cheering on the riders from the private enclosure with friends, and chatting with horse owner Trevor Hemmings.
