Archduke Imre And Archduchess Kathleen Welcome Second Daughter

Archduke Imre and Archduchess Kathleen have become parents for the second time. On February 24th Kathleen gave birth to a healthy daughter. The new Archduchess has been named Magdalena and is the fifth grandchild for Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg and her husband Archduke Carl Christian. Magdalena is also the eighth great-grandchild for Grand Duke Jean.

Archduke Imre was born on December 8, 1985 and is the eldest son and second eldest child of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria (himself the son of Archduke Carl Ludwig of Austria and Princess Yolande of Ligne) and his wife, Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria, née Princess Marie Astrid of Luxembourg (she is the daughter of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg). His full name is Imre Emanuel Simeon Jean Carl Marcus d’Aviano and he has four siblings; Archduchess Marie-Cristine (who married Count Rodolphe of Limburg-Stirum and they have two sons, Count Léopold and Count Constantin), Archduke Cristoph (who married Adélaïde Drapé-Frisch and has one child), Archduke Alexander and Archduchess Gabriella.

Archduchess Kathleen “Katie”, née Walker, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986. Her full name is Kathleen Elizabeth. Miss Walker was an anti-abortion activist who harassed women outside health clinics. She also praised the Spanish inquisition. Kathleen met Archduke Imre at a church in 2010 near where she lived. In December the following year, the couple announced their engagement. They were married on September 8, 2012 at the St Mary Mother of God Church in Washington D.C., USA. The couple’s first daughter Maria Stella was born on November 11th 2013.
