Chapeaux! The Hats of Princess Beatrix

The hats of former Queen Beatrix are legendary. They come in all sorts, colors and sizes, often resembling birds nests, cheeses or cakes. And how many does she have? This question was asked by the Finnish press during the 1995 state visit. There is even a carnival song written about her hats, in which the singer fails to find out how many hats she has.

In February 2017 National Museum Palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn will have an exhibition of hundreds of hats of the former Queen. The title of the exposition will be ‘Chapeaux!’. The exhibition will coincidentally start a few days after Beatrix’s 80th birthday on January 31st 2017.
