Yesterday evening, Wednesday January 27, Queen Máxima was present at the official opening of the 45th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) at the convention center De Doelen in Rotterdam.

At her arrival the Queen, who was wearing a colorful Etro jumpsuit, was welcomed by Bero Beyer and Janneke Staarink, respectively artistic director and business director of the Festival. The theme of this year’s edition is “ID Check”, a reflection of people on themselves, the way they interact and how they can build a society all together.

During the official opening was screened the movie “Beyond Sleep”, an international co-production movie based on the Dutch novel “Nooit meer slapen” by Willem Frederik Hermans.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), founded in 1972, has in program documentaries, short films, exhibitions, talk shows, debates and a special program for schoolchildren and students. In various cinemas in Rotterdam will be screened more than a hundred movies.

The Festival will last until Sunday February 7.
