Princess Aisha of Jordan Marries Mr Ashraf Banayotti

The Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan announced on Wednesday the marriage of Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein to Mr Ashraf Banayotti.

Princess Aisha is the twin sister of Princess Zein bint Al Hussein, and is one of the younger sisters of King Abdullah II and a daughter of the late King Hussein with his British-born wife Princess Muna.

According to the official statement, the ceremony took place at the bride’s mother’s house in Amman and was attended by King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, Princess Muna as well as other members of the Royal Family.

Princess Aisha, who was born in Amman, is 47 years old. She graduated from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and is currently serving as the defence attaché with the Jordanian embassy to the United States.

The Princess was married previously to Mr Zeid Juma and has two children, Aoun and Muna.

    HRH Princess Aisha Bint Al Hussein and Edward Banayoti were divorced, according to the Royal Hashemite Court.
    Edward Banayoti took the Muslim name Ashraf Banayoti when he converted to Islam.
