Duchess of Cambridge Dons Lover’s Knot Tiara For Diplomatic Reception
The Duchess of Cambridge has worn Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara for the first time tonight, while attending the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace.
As usual with this event, photographers were only able to catch a brief glimpse of the royals as they arrived to the Palace, but that was enough to quickly determine the Duchess was wearing one of the two tiaras most associated with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Created in 1914, the tiara – also known as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara – is a replica of one belonging to the grandmother of Queen Mary, Augusta of Hesse-Kassel.Filed under The United Kingdom
