Queen Máxima in Turkey
As a special advocate of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for inclusive finance for development, Queen Máxima attended in Antalya, Turkey on Sunday November 15 the launch of the “SME Finance Forum’s Global Membership Network” during the G20 meeting.
The Queen attended the launch along with Cevdet Yilmaz, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs of Turkey. The Finance Forum 2015 is the first annual gathering of senior leaders of financial institutions, development finance institutions and fintech companies that aims to promote the access to finance for small and medium enterprises.

The Finance Forum was established during the G20 in Mexico in 2012 on the advice of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI). The Queen is Honorary Patron of GPF since June 2011.
Queen Máxima started her speech expressing her condolences for the attacks happened in Paris last Friday. Then she talked about the Finance Forum saying that it’s a great support for SME’s work around the world. The Queen stressed the importance to find new business model to improve finance and she also stated the importance of a global network to bring together knowledge and experience.Filed under The Netherlands
