The Princess of Asturias Celebrates Tenth Birthday

Leonor, the Princess of Asturias today celebrates her tenth birthday.

The eldest of the two daughters of the-then Prince and Princess of Asturias, Leonor was born an Infanta of Spain at the Ruber International Clinic in Madrid. She was baptised in January 2006 at Zarzuela Palace, with her paternal grandparents, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, acting as her godparents.

In 2014, her grandfather abdicated the Spanish throne, thereby making Leonor’s father King and Leonor first in line to succeed him. At this time, she became the Princess of Asturias.

She currently attends the Santa María de los Rosales School in Aravaca, where she began in September 2008. Leonor and her younger sister, Sofía, both attend various national and family events alongside their parents.
