The Prince of Wales is currently on a private visit to Romania, where he has launched a new foundation, The Prince of Wales’ Foundation Romania.

The aim of the foundation is to “support heritage preservation, agriculture and sustainable development in Romania”, as well as education, and will be based in the village of Viscri, located in Brașov County where the Prince has two 18th century houses. The house will be renovated into a Prince of Wales Training Centre so that it can better support the local community.

During his visit, Prince Charles invited Crown Princess Margarita and Prince Radu to visit his property in the Zălanului Valley. He also had an audience with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, on Sunday at Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest.

Prince Charles has had a long interest in Romania, particularly the Transylvania region. He is also involved with a number of Romanian charities.
