King Philippe and Queen Mathilde Visit VRT Broadcaster

Today, Thursday May 28, Their Majasties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid a visit to the Flemish Radio and Television Organization VRT, a Dutch public broadcaster for radio and television in Belgium.

Upon arrival at the headquarters of the broadcaster, the Royal Couple were welcomed by the CEO, Leo Hellemans, and Luc Van den Brande, the President of the Board of the public broadcast.

The King and the Queen made the first stop in the studio of “Volt”, where they were informed about the VRT’s Management Committee about the digital developments. In the studio of “The News” the King and the Queen were greeted by the news anchors Wim Skinner and Martine Tanghe. They explained to the Royal Couple how  the daily newscasts and broadcast happens.

Afterwards the King and the Queen visited the studio of “Ketnet”, a child and youth channel. They were welcomed by Sien and Sarah, two of the presenters of the program and Ines, a 11 year old reporter from “Karreweit”, a news program for youth.
