Queen Margrethe II was one of 130 specially invited guests to tour the refurbished Clay Ceramics Museum in Middelfart this morning ahead of its reopening to the public tomorrow.

The Queen was shown around the museum’s new exhibitions by curator Pia Wirnfeld. One of the exhibitions she saw was Brandes
& Bindesbøll – Bånd & Brud, where artist Peter Brandes gave the Queen explanations to the pieces in the collection. The Queen has been reported to have loaned a few pieces to the museum from her private collection.

A lunch at Hindsgavl Castle took place after the visit.

The museum has been closed for two years to allow for a 60millionDKK refurbishment which has seen a new underground extension be added to the museum complex.
