Christening of Désirée Magnuson

The Swedish Royal Family have celebrated the christening of Princess Christina’s granddaughter Désirée at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm.

Désirée Magnuson is the daughter of Gustaf Magnuson and his wife Vicky. The christening took place earlier yesterday morning and was followed by a lunch hosted by Princess Christina and her husband Tord.

“Everything went as planned. It was a great ceremony. Everyone was happy and it was fun to see,” Gustaf said to Swedish newspaper Expressen after the ceremony. Crown Princess Victoria agreed, saying the christening was “wonderful…beautiful.”

The two youngest Swedish Princesses – Estelle and Leonore – were both present for their cousin’s big day, alongside King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, the Crown Princess Couple, Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist, and Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill.
