King Willem-Alexander & Queen Máxima To Visit Canada

The King and Queen of the Netherlands are set to pay a state visit to Canada in May, it was announced earlier today.

The couple will travel at the invitation of the Canadian Governor-General, David Johnston, and his wife Sharon. They will be in the country between May 27 and 29. The last Dutch state visit to Canada was in 1988, when the then Queen Beatrix visited.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bert Koenders. A trade mission, led by the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, and an education mission, led by the Minister for Education, Culture and Science, will take place in conjunction with Their Majesties’ trip.
