Queen Mathilde Visits Disability Day Centre
The Queen of the Belgians today paid a visit to a therapeutic day centre for disabled children in the southern town of Jambes.
Les Perce-Neige provides care and education to children in the region that have multiple disabilities. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014, and Queen Mathilde was meant to visit the centre in December, however, the visit was postponed in the wake of the death of Queen Fabiola.
During her visit, Mathilde – wearing a yellow jacket and grey skirt – spoke with children and parents who utilise the services offered by the centre, and participated in a classroom activity.
The Queen also visited the centre in 2004 to mark its 30th anniversary.
