Queen Sofia of Spain yesterday was in Pozuelo de Alarcón, where she visited the project ‘The Music of Recycling’ that is supported by the Queen Sofia Foundation.

During her visit at the Villapaz Reception Centre, Queen Sofia met with the twenty local students who take part in the project and was shown their instruments. The students were undergoing a test during the visit, so the Queen was able to see them perform for a short while.

‘The Music of Recycling’ is an initiative run by the Ecoembres organisation that aims to provide children who are at risk of social exclusion through music, education and recycling with an opportunity to encourage their personal growth. The CEO of Ecoembres praised the program, saying how the students have also been learning “essential values such as teamwork, effort, discipline and the necessary respect for our environment.”
