Luxembourg’s Grand Dukes Attend Holocaust Memorial Concert

While their son and daughter-in-law were in Poland for the official commemoration, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa tonight attended a concert to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

The concert, organised jointly by MemoShoah and the Israelite Consistory of Luxembourg, was held at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg City, and was attended by a members of Luxembourg’s government and members of the Jewish community.

Performances by contemporary composers Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein, Laszlo Weiner and Ilse Weber comprised the concert.

MemoShoah is a Luxembourg not-for-profit whose aim is to keep the memory of the Holocaust and Jewish victims from Luxembourg alive, and has the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess as its patrons.
