The Thai Royal Court confirmed that the Crown Prince, Maha Vajiralongkorn, and his third wife Srirasmi have ended their 13 year marriage.

“The King has granted permission to announce that Princess Srirasmi, the wife of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, has informed in a written document that she has resigned from her royal status,” an official statement from the Palace announced yesterday in the Royal Thai Government Gazette.

Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and the former Princess married in February 2001, and have one son, Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, born in April 2005.

Srirasmi Suwadee, as the former Princess is now known, has been linked to a recent corruption scandal, where several close family members were charged with numerous corruption and bribery offences, and were stripped of their royally provided name.

“She has resigned her royal status.” That’s hilarious. One day you’re in and the next day you’re out. Such is royal life. HA!
