Princess Laurentien Opens Taalhuis
Princess Laurentien today opened the Taalhuis at the Central Library in The Hague.
The opening of the Taalhuis – Language House – took place on International Literacy Day, which also marks the beginning of literacy week in the Netherlands. The aim of the centre is to provide courses for individuals who wish to improve their Dutch reading, writing and speaking skills.
During the event, Princess Laurentien – who incorporated the opening’s colour theme of green into her outfit by wearing a green shawl and heels – presented the National Literacy Prizes.
The Princess did so in her role as the chairwoman of the European Commission’s High Level Group on Literacy.Filed under The Netherlands
