Princess Cécilia of Bourbon-Parma Christened In Piacenza

Princess Cécilia of Bourbon-Parma’s christening took place on April 5 in Piacenza, Italy, in the city’s cathedral. Princess Cécilia was christened using water from the River Jordan, as is customary for all royal children. In 2012, her elder sister Princess Luisa was christened in Parma.

Princess Cécilia’s full name is Cécilia Maria Johanna Beatrix. Cecilia honours her mother, Annemarie Cécilia; Maria honours her godmother, Princess Maria Cecilia; Johanna honours her godfather, Johan Gualthérie van Weezel; whilst Beatrix honours her godmother, the former Queen of the Netherlands. Her godparents are the former Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Princess Maria Cecilia of Bourbon-Parma, Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma, Johan Gualthérie van Weezel and Véronique Gualthérie van Weezel.

Princess Cécilia was born on 18 October 2013 in The Hague, the Netherlands and is the youngest daughter and child of Carlos, Duke of Parma and his wife, Annemarie, Duchess of Parma. She has an elder sister, Princess Luisa, who was born on 9 May 2012.
