Her Majesty Queen Fabiola of Belgium celebrated her 85th birthday on June 11th.

The Spanish-born widow of the late beloved King Baudouin of Belgium was born in Madrid in 1928. Queen Fabiola was the fourth daughter of the Count and Countess of Mora and her godmother was none other than Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain.

In December 1960, Doña Fabiola de Mora y Aragón married King Baudouin of Belgium at St. Michael and Gudula Cathedral in Brussels. Sadly the couple had no children, the queen suffered five miscarriages. King Baudouin died suddenly in July 1993 while on holiday in Spain and was succeeded by his younger brother Albert, Prince of Liège who became King Albert II of The Begians.

Since the death of her husband, Queen Fabiola reduced her public appearances but still attends most important court ceremonies and several Royal Weddings.
