Juan Urdangarín Turns 13

His Excellency Don Juan Urdangarín y de Borbón, Grande de España turned 13 on September 29.

Don Juan Urdangarín is the eldest son of Infanta Cristina of Spain and Don Iñaki Urdangarin, Duke Consort of Palma de Mallorca. His Excellency is the second eldest grandson of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, and is currently eighth in the line of Succession to the Spanish Throne.

Don Juan has 2 younger brothers, Pablo and Miguel and a younger sister Irene. He is affectionately referred to as “Juanito” by the Spanish media.

Don Juan Urdangarín y de Borbón was born in Barcelona on the 29th of September 1999. He was baptised Juan Valentín de Todos los Santos Urdangarín y de Borbón on the 12th of December 1999 at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid. He was named ‘Juan’ in honour of both his grandfather, King Juan Carlos and great-grandfather, the late Don Juan Count of Barcelona.
