Felipe & Letizia’s Official Visit to Portugal, Days Two and Three

On Thursday May 31st, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Asturias travelled to the city of Braga in the northwest of Portugal. Here the royal couple paid a visit to the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, where the Prince later unveiled a plaque in honour of the royal visit.

The Prince and Princess then returned to Lisbon where they attended a reception at the Spanish ambassador’s residence in honour of Portuguese personalities (social, cultural and business). Later that evening, the Prince and Princess attended a gala dinner hosted by the President and First Lady at the Queluz Palace in Lisbon.

On the last day of their official visit, Felipe and Letizia both attended a business meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Luso-Spanish at the Tiara Hotel in Lisbon. Following this, the royal couple went onto meet the Portuguese Prime Minister and his wife at the São Bento Palace.

On Friday evening, Their Royal Highnesses attended the European Heritage Awards ceremony which was held at the stunning Jerónimos Monastery which concluded the visit to Portugal.
