Queen Sofia hosts Dinner in Queen Silvia’s Honour at the Zarzuela Palace

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain welcomed Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden to the Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid on Friday April 20th. The King and Queen of Sweden are currently on a private visit to Spain, where the King will preside over the 63rd World Scout Foundation in Madrid.

In a warm display of mutual affection, both queens entered the Palacio de la Zarzuela hugging as seen in the very lovely photo below. Queen Sofia later hosted a dinner in honour of Queen Silvia.

His Majesty,King Juan Carlos, who was released from hospital earlier this week and is recovering from his hip operation, did not attend the royal dinner.
