Princess Amira Wins “Woman Personality of the Year 2012” Award

Princess Amira Al-Taweel, chairwoman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, received the “Woman Personality of the Year 2012” at the 11th Middle East Women Leaders Awards which was held in Dubai, UAE.

Princess Amira received the award from the UAE Minister of State, Reem Al Hashimy. After receiving the award, Princess Amira gave a speech where she said, “Connecting with other women is key to shaping our life’s direction. Harnessing knowledge through networking comes natural to us, and this helps empower ourselves. I would like to congratulate those behind Women Empowerment Group – this is a noble initiative for the purpose of learning, teaching, supporting and empowering. So, whether one is an aspiring or established small business owner or a housewife, this is a great platform to exchange ideas, develop relationships, and share resources. I am privileged to be a part of this unique move.”

The awards are given to women who have made a change and reached challenging positions in different areas like business, government, education and so on. Princess Amira wins the award after her involvement in women empowerment issues, poverty, distress relief, education all through the AlWaleed bin Talal Foundation.
