Prince Joachim & Princess Marie Expecting 2nd Child

The Danish Royal Court has announced today that Princess Marie is pregnant. The Princess is expected to give birth to her second child in January 2012.

According to the press release, it is expected that the birth will take place at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

The official press release read:

“Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are expecting a child

Amalienborg Palace, August 24, 2011

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are happy to announce the pregnancy of Princess Marie.

It is expected that the birth will take place at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen (Copenhagen University Hospital) at the end of January, 2012.

The Prince and Princess were married on 24 May 2008 and have 1 son together, Prince Henrik, born on 4 may, 2009. The Prince also has 2 sons from his first marriage to Countess Alexandra, Prince Nikolai, who was born on 28 August 1999, and Prince Felix, who was born on 22 July 2002.
