Crown Princess Maxima attended a Conference

On Thursday 02 December, Princess Maxima participated in the national conference Backup at the Museum for Communication in The Hague. At the conference of the Orange fund Princess Maxima met with volunteers to improve future opportunities for young people. The Orange Fund supports several national projects and local initiatives in which youth volunteers for their support to increase opportunities for the future.

Examples include homework assistance, mentoring projects, weekend schools, buddies, mentoring and coaching. The initiatives are aimed at, among other things to prevent early school leaving and young people to the highest possible level of school support.

The conference was attended by project coordinators of initiatives and professionals in the social sphere and education. Concentrated on identifying existing community initiatives, the effectiveness of the projects and aspirations for the future.

The results of the conference develop Orange Fund a new program to reach even more young people. Princess Maxima attended a number of roundtable discussions and spoke after the conference participants.

The Prince of Orange and Princess Maxima are patrons of the Orange Fund.
