The Big 5

Ones fifth birthday is always special and this is no different for a royal youngster. No fewer than 12 royal children will or have celebrated their half decade this year. Here is a run down of these birthday tots:

Belgium
Prince Emmanuel – Born the third child of The Duke and Duchess of Brabant, Emmanuel celebrated his 5th birthday on October 4th. He has an older sister, Elisabeth, an older brother Gabriel and a younger sister, Eléonore.

Princes Nicolas and Aymeric – Twins Nicolas and Aymeric are the younger children of Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium. They have an older sister Princess Louise. Their birthday is the 14th of December.

Denmark
Prince Christian – Christian celebrated his 5th birthday on the 15th of October. He is the eldest child of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. He has a younger sister, Isabella. However, the Crown Princess expects twins in January 2011.

Greece
Carlos Morales y de Grecia – Carlos celebrated his 5th birthday on the 30th of July. He is the only son of Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark and Carlos Morales. He has two older sisters, Arietta and Ana Maria, and a younger sister, Amelia.

Jordan
Prince Hashem – Born the youngest child of King Abdullah and Queen Rania, Hashem celebrated his birthday on the 30th of January. He has an older brother, Crown Prince Hussein, and two elder sisters, Princesses Iman and Salma.

Netherlands
Princess Alexia – Alexia turned 5 on the 26th of June. She is the daughter of Crown Prince Willem Alexander and Princess Maxima. She as an elder sister Princess Amalia and a younger sister Princess Ariane.

Countess Luana – Born on the 26th of March as Emma Luana but known as Luana, she is the eldest child of Prince Johan Friso and Princess Mabel. Luana has one sister, Countess Zaria.

Norway
Prince Sverre Magnus – Sverre Magnus will celebrate his birthday on the 3rd of December. He is the youngest child in the Norwegian Crown Princely Family, following Marius Borg Hoiby and Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Leah Isadora Behn – Leah Isadora turned 5 on the 8th of April. She is one of three daughters born to Princess Martha Louise and Ari Behn. She has an older sister Maud Angelica and a younger sister Emma Tallulah.

Spain
Infanta Leonor – Leonor celebrated her 5th birthday on the 31st of October. The eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Asturias, she has a younger sister, Infanta Sofia.

Irene Urdangarin y de Borbon – The only daughter of Infanta Cristina and Inaki Urdangarin, Irene turned 5 on the 5th of June. She has three elder brothers: Juan, Pablo and Miguel.
