Crown Princess Victoria in The Netherlands

A cross country royal event took place yesterday evening, when Crown Princess Victoria attended the 50th Anniversary Royal Gala evening for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in The Netherlands. Also in attendance at the gala were HRH The Prince of Oranje and the Duke of Parma and his wife Annemarie. The duke and duchess celebrated their civil wedding this spring. The religious wedding was postponed due to the death of the duke’s father, but will be held on November 20th in Brussels.

Over 150 Swedish, Dutch and other European companies are a member of the chamber of commerce, which has been founded fifty years ago to strengthen relations and to promote and support trade between Sweden and The Netherlands. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce honoured Mr. Ingvar Kamprad, founder IKEA with a Lifetime Achievement Award.The evening also offered a show by the Swedish artist Malena Ernman.

The gala was held in the winter garden of the Hotels van Oranje at the boulevard in Noordwijk aan Zee. The theme of the anniversairy year of the chamber of commerce was sustainability and innovation. The two were combined in a special petitfour made from lupine proteine. The proteine can be made in an environmental friendly way, and it has a low fat percentage despite the high number of proteine it contains. Princess Victoria, who was wearing a dress of the Malene Birger A/W 2010 Collection, had the honor to be the first person in the world to try this particular petitfour.
