Prince Faisal bin al Hussein marries Miss Sara Qabbani

HRH Prince Faisal bin al Hussein of Jordan married yesterday his fiancée, Miss Sara Bassam Qabbani, at the Zahran Palace in Amman.

After the marriage contract was signed, the groom’s brother King Abdullah II held a reception ceremony, which was attended by the royal family, the bride’s parents and other Qabbani family members.

Prince Faisal, who is 47 years old, got engaged to Sara last March at her parents’ home in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where her father, Mr Bassam Qabbani, has worked for a leading oil company for the past 30 years.

The bride, who is Lebanese, was raised in Saudi Arabia and graduated in 2000 from the American University in Cairo, Egypt with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communications, specialising in integrated marketing communication. She worked with her husband Prince Faisal as the director of his sustainable peace- building initiative “Generations for Peace”.

Prince Faisal is the second son of the late King Hussein of Jordan and his British-born wife Princess Muna. He was married previously to Princess Alia Tabbaa, they have four children.

The Elaph.com online newspaper reported that the bride got the title of princess according to Hashimite traditions and they will celebrate the wedding in a private ceremony today, but the official statement did not clarify that.
