Official Visit to Malaysia – Day 1

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are on an official visit to Malaysia from March 8th to 10th. The Crown Princely couple is accompanied by about 130 representatives of Norwegian trade and industry. Many engagements during the vist will take place in Kuala Lumpur – the capital of Malaysia.

The Norwegian crown princely couple arrived on March 8th and was welcomed during an official greeting ceremony outside the Perdana Putra Complex, south of Kuala Lumpur, where the couple was formally greeted by the Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd and his wife.

After the welcoming ceremony, the couple travelled to the National Palace. There they were granted an audience by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong. Afterwards a press conference was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

In the evening a welcoming banquet was hosted at the residence of Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib.
