Princess Marie Presents Scholarships to Women in Science

Princess Marie, in her role as Patron of the Danish National Committee for UNICEF, today presented the UNESCO/L’Oreal award of “Scholarships for Women in Science” at the Royal Danish Academy of Science. The award is intended to highlight women in science and support their promising research, as nine in every ten professors in Denmark is male, despite 50% of doctorates being held by ladies.

53 entries were submitted this year and the final three to whom Princess Marie presented the awards were Anja Pernille Einholm, from the University of Aarhus, Nini Skovgaard, also the University of Aarhus and Maria Tenje of the Technical University of Denmark. They each recieve a grant of 100,000DK.
