Prince George’s Christening

At 3pm today, Prince George, the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was christened at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace. The three month old prince wore a replica of the Honiton lace gown made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Victoria, the Princess Royal, in 1841. The birth of the newest heir to the British throne has officially been registered with the City of Westminster. The Duke of Cambridge registered his son’s July 22nd birth on August 2nd, at Kensington Palace. A statement released today by Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis.” It went on saying, “The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.” The couple announced the baby’s name two days after it’s birth. Prince George is third in line and one day will be King.
