Prince Frederik visits Svendborg to Celebrate ‘Sport Community of the Year’

Crown Prince Frederik yesterday paid a visit to the Helse School in Svendborg, 190km south-west of Copenhagen. The visit was part of the municipality being awarded the ‘The Year’s Sports Community’ for 2008. Zara Phillips Crashes Spectacularly Out of Badminton

The reigning world champion 3 day eventer, Zara Phillips, granddaughter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, had a cruel disappointment at the famed Badminton Horse Trials this weekend. Haakon and Mette-Marit at “Holmenkollen Relay”

Yesterday CP Haakon, CP Mette-Marit of Norway and their staff took part in the “Holmenkollen Relay”. Their team was called “The Crown Prince Couple’s Court”. Among the participants in the relay were also the Prime Minister and the Minister of foreign affairs. The CP couple’s team finished as 123 out 227 in their class. On May 6th, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visited the town of Flensburg in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, just below the Danish-German border. Princess Alexandra attends Basketball Final

Luxembourg’s Princess Alexandra attended the final of the Luxembourg Men’s Basketball Cup 2009. The event was held at the National Sports and Cultural Center in Coque on March 21st. Albert II receives Cyclo-Cross Riders in Audience

King Albert II of Belgium received the Belgian cyclocross riders who participated in the Cyclocross World Championship 2009 in Hoogerheide (NL). Among the riders also the World Champion Niels Albert, the coach of the Belgian team, the Vice President of the Belgian Cyclist federation. The audience took place at the Royal Palace in Brussels. Prince Felix attends Ladies Cup

On March 14th, Prince Felix attended the final of the Coupe de Luxembourg des dames (LaLux Ladies Cup). At the end of the game, Felix presented the winning team – Residence – with the trophy. King Carl Gustaf attends Skiing World Cup

King Carl XVI Gustaf attended the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in Åre today. The King presented the winner of the ladies’ downhill competition, American Lindsey Vonn, with her trophy. The competition is something that the King has attended in the past, sometimes accompanied by his wife Queen Silvia and eldest daughter Victoria.
