H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended a friendly match between the UAE National Soccer team and Manchester City of England at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, UAE. ”We will draw lessons from this match so as to represent the UAE honourably,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
The UAE won the match 1-0. The goal was scored in the first half of the match.
The match comes to introduce the club to the UAE fans which is owned by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, launched a nation wide campaign to combat the swine flu (H1N1) pandemic on Saturday November 7.
Sheikh Mohammed said “The healthy citizen is more capable to contribute in the implementation of the comprehensive development plans and in shaping the better tomorrow for our country.”
The campaign is to spread the awarness of the importance of immunization against the disease. The campaign started in Abu Dhabi and will cover the entire country.

His Majesty King Hamad of Bahrain visited Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit where he was welcomed by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The visit was part of the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula One races which takes place tomorrow November 1, 2009. King Hamad was briefed on the circuit’s history, facilities, local and international sports activities.
The tour was attended by a few Sheikhs, the Kings entourage and F1 officials.

HH Gen. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces arrived in Washington DC to hold talks with US President Barak Obama, senior White House advisers, cabinet secretaries, Congressional leaders as well as a few senior US government officials.
Sheikh Mohammed met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and held talks on varioues subjects such as peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, improving stability in the region and the US-UAE Bilateral Agreement for Peaceful Nuclear Cooperation. The Crown Prince also met that day with Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, National Security Advisor Gen. Jim Jones and Members of Congress.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed to the meetings is UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Ambassador to the United States.

Sheikh Mohammed said to the team “Your determination and keen desire for winning helped you in making this achievement. The country’s paralympic teams have come of age. They are playing a vital role in enhancing the country’s image.” Sheikh Mohammed also praised the team’s successful participation in the event,thanks to the great support given by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has issued a decision setting up the board of directors of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Houses and Utilities Development. Sheikh Mohammed appointed a few people today as executive directors of lands, properties, support services and regional services at the Department of Municipal Affairs.

HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar arrived in the UAE on Sunday where he held talks with President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders discussed relations between Qatar and the UAE and matters of mutual concern as well as the regional and international issues in line with continuous consultations between the leaderships of the two countries.
Sheikh Khalifa hosted a banquet in honour of Emir of Qatar and his delegation. After the talks and lunch the Emir returned to Qatar.

His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President Sarkozy inaugurated a preview experience of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the first universal museum in the Middle East. The event took place at Emirates Palace as part of a celebration to mark the begin of construction of the museum.
Sheikh Mohammed and President Sarkozy viewed a 90-minute film which illustrated about the design for the Louvre Abu Dhabi by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the conecpt of the Louvre Abu Dhabi and a guided tour of selected artworks specially chosen to demonstrate the curatorial vision of the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The museum is to open in 2012/13.
Sarkozy talking at the event said “With deep admiration for the people of Abu Dhabi, and for their leaders who believe, as we do, that the arts lie at the very heart of civilisation, the Republic of France joins in celebrating this auspicious day,”. He added “Together, we have embarked on an extraordinary journey of cultural exchange and collaboration and I believe that our two countries will forever be strengthened by this partnership.”

H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco laid the foundation stone of the Bab al-Bahar, a mega development in the Moroccon capital Rabat.
At the laying stone ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed and Prince Moulay Rachid viewed a presentation on the different phases of the project. It is being constructed by Abu Dhabi-based Al Maabar International Investments. The development aims to boost Morocco’s tourism industry.
The project consists of 55000 square meters of residential and commercial buildings, a 5-star hotel, hotel apartments, office buildings, shopping centers, a theatre, arts city, a tunnel, a bridge and full amenities and facilities will be built on an area of 7 million square feet on the estuary of Bouregrag River on the Mediterranean. The project is worth more than US$ 750 million and is scheduled for completion in 2012.
