Swedish Royals celebrate National Day

On June 6th the Royal Family of Sweden celebrated their National Day. In the morning Princess Madeleine opened the gates to the public at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, for the traditional open palace day. Queen Silvia attends Manila School 200th Anniversary

Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the Manilla School’s jubilee celebrations today in Djurgården. Wearing a green and white patterned skirt-suit paired with beige accessories, Queen Silvia opened the school’s celebration week and then toured an exhibition entitled ‘Manila School 1809-2009′ which showcases the history of the school, founded by Pär Aron Borg. To celebrate the World Childhood Foundation’s 10th anniversary, a concert was held at the Göteborg Opera House. Queen Silvia speaks for the First Time about Brother’s Death

Mathilde voted most popular European princess by PdV

Princess Mathilde was voted the most popular and best future Queen Consort by a poll of the French royalty magazine Point de Vue. She received 47,8% of the votes, and led the poll by a large margin. Sweden’s King and Queen have a Busy Day

Yesterday, the King and Queen of Sweden had a busy day. First, the pair attended the inauguration of the Sweden-America Centre in Karlstad. At the centre, Carl Gustaf and Silvia viewed exhibits of American/Swedish newspapers and sculptures. Queen Silvia attends ‘Spread the Sign’ inauguration

Queen Silvia opens ‘Viola’ Flower Show

The Dutch Queen opened a flower exhibition yeterday in Lisse; and a similar engagement was undertaken by Sweden’s Queen Silvia. Queen Silvia attended the start of the 52nd Session on Narcotic Drugs at the Vienna International Centre in Vienna yesterday, March 11. The conference was organised on behalf of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and was also attended by the UNODC’s Executive Director Antonio Maria Costa.
