Salary Increase for the Danish Royal Family

According to politiken.dk, the Danish Royal Family will next year receive an increase in their allowances totalling 1.9 million kroner. The Queen’s husband Prince Henrik will receive a total budget of 7.1 million kroner, which is a rise of 200,000 kroner from last year, whilst Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will receive an increase of 100,000 kroner, for a total of 3.1 million. Danish Princesses Support the Danish Fashion Industry

First Patronage for Princess Marie

The Tønder Festival was announced by the Danish Royal Court as the first patronage of HRH Princess Marie. The annual folk music festival, which takes place in the southern-Danish city of Tønder neighbouring Marie’s home at Schackenborg Castle, has been running since 1975. Christening of Prince Henrik in Møgeltønder

Today was the christening of Prince Henrik Carl Joachim Alain, the son of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie in Møgeltønder. The Prince is Henrik after his paternal grandfather, Carl after an old king, Joachim after his father and Alain after his maternal grandfather. The ‘Lille Prins’ Goes Sailing

Approval Ratings Down for Henrik and Joachim

New approval ratings for the Danish Royal Family have shown that while all the royal family has dropped in approval ratings, it is Queen Margrethe II’s husband and younger son who have dropped their approval ratings dramatically since 2004. Presentation of the Newborn Prince

At 1pm today Princess Marie and Prince Joachim left Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen with their new baby son. As they walked out, balloons were realeased by the hospital workers to celebrate the baby’s birth. It’s a Boy for Princess Marie!

It has been announced today that Princess Marie has given birth to a boy at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. The baby was born at 4.57 a.m. local time, weighed 3032 grams, and measured 49 cm in length. Congratulations to Princess Marie and family! For more information, please see this thread.

Princess Marie Cancels Engagement

Princess Marie has cancelled her engagement on the 26th at the Royal Theatre in order to clear her calender for her baby. Her midwife and doctor are currently “on standby” as she waits in Copenhagen for the baby to arrive. The event at the theatre will, however, still be attended by Prince Joachim. Princess Marie of Denmark Maternity Fashion Part 3: Third Trimester

Princess Marie has continued to shine as her pregnancy enters its final stages. She has shown that just because a woman is pregnant, it doesn’t mean that she can’t be fashionable. The Danish princess clearly loves her new curves, and isn’t afraid to show them off. She seems very comfortable in her skin, and her positive attitude and lovely glow are beautiful to see.

Danish Royals help celebrate Home Guard’s 60th Anniversary

The Danish Royal Family was out in force on Wednesday April 1st to help the Danish Home Guard celebrate their 60th anniversary. The eyes of royal-watchers were split between Crown Princess Mary in her military uniform and Princess Marie’s baby bump.
