Prince Friso Laid To Rest

Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau was laid to rest yesterday afternoon, in a private funeral at the Stulpkerk in Lage Vuursche. His bereaved family made their way to the church on foot from Drakensteyn Castle, Prince Friso’s childhood home. The Prince’s two daughters, Countesses Luana and Zaria, along with his nieces and nephews were all wearing white outfits. Prince Friso Has Passed Away

The Dutch Royal Court has just announced that Prince Friso, the second son of Princess Beatrix, has passed away from complications in his health. He was 44. The Prince has been in a coma for over a year following a skiing accident in Austria in February 2012. Prince Friso Leaves Hospital, Back in Holland

The Dutch Government Information Service (RVD) has just announced that Prince Friso, the second son of Princess Beatrix, has left the Wellington Hospital in London and has been returned to the Netherlands. Prince Friso in State of “Minimal Consciousness”

The Dutch Government Information Service has today released a statement regarding the current state of Prince Friso. The RVD said that Prince Friso, who has been in a coma since a skiing accident in February, has recently begun showing signs of minimal consciousness. Prince Friso Transferred to Wellington Clinic in London

Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau has been transferred to the Wellington Clinic in London, England. The RVD announced this today at 18.18 o’clock Duch time. The Wellington Clinic has been chosen based on advice from experts. Their advice was based on the condition of the Prince. Prince Friso in Coma following Avalanche Last Friday

UPDATE 24/02/12 at 07:15: A press conference with the head of trauma and intensive care at the hospital in Innsbruck has just taken place. The doctors gave some details on the Prince’s condition, and their prognosis: The Prince was under the snow for 25 minutes, and CPR was performed for 50 minutes to resuscitate him. A MRI was performed yesterday on the Prince, which indicated that the Prince had suffered severe brain damage from a lack of oxygen. Doctors cannot guarantee that the Prince will awaken from his coma, or give a timeframe as to when this could be expected. If he does wake up, his rehabilitation will take months or years.
Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau is currently in a critical but stable condition in an Innsbruck hospital following an avalanche in the ski resort of Lech am Arlberg on Friday February 17th. Continue reading
