Princess of Hanover Solo Visit to Niger

Between February 5th and 7th, Princess Caroline of Hanover and Monaco paid a visit to Niger to vist the projects of her patronage, AMADE (Association Mondiale Des Amis De L’enfance). Crown Princess Mary’s Birthday Engagement

  Crown Princess Mary spent her 37th birthday attending the premiere of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair’s CIFFKids Trend Show at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen. The visit saw Mary viewing the collections of several lines of clothing for children, and being sung ‘Happy Birthday’. Countess Alexandra Opens New Set

Countess Alexandra, as patron of Børnekulturhuset Fyrtøjet, opened its new set at the Children’s Culture House on Saturday. The 18th set design, this one has been inspired by the humourous fairytale about Block Hans. Denmark’s Crown Prince Couple Receive Donation for Humanitarian Fund

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary accepted a donation for their humanitarian fund on January 27, from the sales of a Greenlandic charity stamp issued in 2006. The stamp was published by Post Greenland, who presented the Crown Prince Couple with a cheque for 250,000 Danish kroner. It is believed the money will go towards helping children in Greenland. Crown Princess Mary Receives Donation for the Danish Demining Group

As the patron of the Danish Refugee Council, Crown Princess Mary accepted a donation of 3.2 million Swedish Kroner on January 29th for the charity’s Danish Demining Group. The donation came from Postkodlotteriet, a Swedish lottery foundation. The money will go towards clearing mines in Sri Lanka. Mary has been patron of the Danish Refugee Council since 2005. Crown Prince Frederik Takes on New Patronage

Crown Prince Frederik was announced on January 29th as the royal patron of Soldaterlegatet; a new fund which will provide grants to Danish soldiers who have returned from missions abroad injured, or to the family members of those killed in combat. 33rd International Circus Festival – Monte-Carlo

The 33rd International Circus Festival Monte-Carlo concluded January 25, 2009 with awards presented by Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie. The festival included more than 15 performances (one more than previous years) and included appearances by the Princess and her children. Countess Alexandra Inaugurates the 2009 UNICEF-City

Countess Alexandra has officially inaugurated Lynby-Tarbaek as the UNICEF-City of 2009, in her capacity as patron of the Danish Committee for UNICEF.
