Dutch Royals Celebrate Koninginnedag

The Dutch Royal Family yesterday celebrated the official birthday of Queen Beatrix, Koninginnedag, in the towns of Rhenen and Veenendaal. Queen Beatrix was joined by two of her sons and daughters-in-law, her sister, and nephews and their wives for the festivities. Only Prince Friso, Princess Mabel and Princess Anita were not in attendance. Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven was only present in Veenendaal. Koninginnedag 2010

The Dutch Royals were in Zeeland today, to celebrate the 2010 edition of Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day). This year’s festivities were also used to mark Queen Beatrix’s 30th anniversary on the throne. Dutch Royals Unveil Queen’s Day 2009 Memorial Ahead of 2010 Edition

A somber day for the Dutch Royal Family today, as they attended the unveiling of the memorial dedicated to the victims of last year’s Koninginnedag tragedy in Apeldoorn. Car Crashes into the Crowd at Queen Beatrix’s Parade

A car crash, which is being seen as a deliberate attack, disrupted the celebrations of the Dutch Queen’s Day on April 30, 2009 in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. To mark the 100th anniversairy of Queen Juliana of The Netherlands, the traditional defilé will return on Queen’s Day (Koninginnedag). Special Flower Girl For Princess Máxima

The mayor of Apeldoorn, where this year’s Queen’s Day will be held, has selected eight girls to hand over flowers to the Dutch royal ladies. Queen’s Day Will Cost 645.000 Euros

The mayor and aldermen of the city of Apeldoorn announced that the total costs of Queen’s Day (Koninginnedag) that will be celebrated in Apeldoorn this year, will be 645.000 euros. Of this amount 377.000 euros will be used for the festivities themselves and for communication and PR around the visit of the royal family to Apeldoorn.
