Princess Mary in Washington, DC for Women’s Conference

Crown Princess Mary was in Washington, D.C. last week, attending the Second World Conference of Women’s Shelters. The Crown Princess was in attendance in conjunction with her work with The Mary Foundation. Nobel Peace Prize 2011

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberia’s peace activist Leymah Gbowee and Yemen’s human rights activist Tawakkul Karman “for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work”, according to a release from the prize committee. Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan received on November 2nd, 2011 the Inspiration Award, during the annual luncheon of the Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists in the Dining Room at the United Nations. Jordan’s King Abdullah Receives Honorary Doctorate

Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited the Hvalstad school in Asker on Sunday afternoon. She took part at the “ski-day” for underage asylum seekers.
