Princess Ariane Hospitalised with Respiratory Problems

The Dutch Royal Court today revelead that HRH Princess Ariane, the youngest daughter of TRH The Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima, was admitted to hospital yesterday with respiratory problems resulting from an infection to her upper breathing system. Duchess of Gloucester Opens New Hospice Unit

The Duchess of Gloucester officially opened a refurbished inpatient unit at the Heart of Kent Hospice. The new unit was the result of a £286,000 grant provided by the Department of Health, with the goal of improving the environment for the terminally ill adults who are served by the hospice. Grand Duke Jean in Hospital

Grand Duke Jean, former Grand Duke of Luxembourg, has been admitted into hospital due to basic circulatory problems. Last Sunday, May 31, Queen Sofia and her sister Princess Irene of Greece flew from Santander, where the Queen was attending the celebration of the Spanish Armed Forces Day, to London on board a Ryanair flight to visit their brother Constantine II, Former King of Greece. King Constantine is recovering from a heart operation in the Intensive Care Unit at Wellington hospital.

Prince Bernhard Undergoes Surgery

Prince Bernhard, a nephew of Queen Beatrix, has undergone intestinal surgery to remove benign tissue in his bowel. The surgery took place yesterday at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, and was performed by Dr WA Bemelmans. The RVD reported that the surgery went to plan, and the Prince is recovering.
