Prince Friso in Coma following Avalanche Last Friday

UPDATE 24/02/12 at 07:15: A press conference with the head of trauma and intensive care at the hospital in Innsbruck has just taken place. The doctors gave some details on the Prince’s condition, and their prognosis: The Prince was under the snow for 25 minutes, and CPR was performed for 50 minutes to resuscitate him. A MRI was performed yesterday on the Prince, which indicated that the Prince had suffered severe brain damage from a lack of oxygen. Doctors cannot guarantee that the Prince will awaken from his coma, or give a timeframe as to when this could be expected. If he does wake up, his rehabilitation will take months or years.
Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau is currently in a critical but stable condition in an Innsbruck hospital following an avalanche in the ski resort of Lech am Arlberg on Friday February 17th. Continue reading

Princess Marie Admitted to Hospital in Copenhagen

Princess Marie is in labour and has been admitted to the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, the Danish Royal Court has confirmed. The Court’s spokesperson, Lene Balleby, told Danish media that the Princess was admitted to the hospital just after 04:00 this morning, Danish time – five hours ago. “Everything is progressing as it should,” Balleby said. Crown Princess Victoria Visits Children’s Hospital

Prince Philip Recovering from Heart Surgery

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh is currently recovering from heart surgery at Papworth Cardiothoracic Hospital in Cambridgeshire, England, after he was admitted there last night, local time. Grand Duke Henri was admitted to the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg yesterday, after complaining to the court physican of chest pains. Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary has been admitted to hospital to give birth to her twins, as was confirmed by the Royal Court a short while ago. Prince Kardam Discharged from Hospital

After several media outlets last week reported on prince Kardam’s hospitalisation, ‘Hola!’ now reports on their website that prince Kardam has been discharged from the Conxo provinvial hospital in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In ‘Hola!’ Kardam’s wife, princess Miriam, says that the prince has been discharged.
